    March 2017 meeting

This will be the last meeting before the local election on April 4th (note that we will have an Election Night Party at Maggie Miley's on April 4th - details will be announced at the meeting, on Facebook, and on the website), so we will have some great speakers and a lot of fun events to announce.

Residents of Normal will be able to vote for 3 Libertarians for the partisan Township Trustee race. Christopher McDermottSteve Suess, and Alex Nigro will be on the ballot as Libertarians. A representative from that group of candidates will give an update on their game plan for the April 4th local election.

Pending speakers also include endorsed non-partisan candidates for Community College Board, Unit 5 School Board, and Normal Library Board. If you are running, or you know anyone else who is running and might be interested in seeking an endorsement, please email chair@mcleancountylp.org.

The Chair will give an update regarding various campaigns for local office, the LP of Illinois, and current bills in Springfield that Libertarians can help support. The agenda always ends with informal social hour for discussion, networking, drinking, and fun.

People of any political backgrounds are welcome. Please share and invite your friends!

    Hope to see you there!

Saturday will also have our annual auction. This is one of the most important fundraising events of the year and we are asking for donations. Liberty themed items are ideal, but anything of interest is welcome. In the past we have had items ranging from books to a Kindle, even baked goods and gift baskets. Please donate new or barely used items with values under $100 so more people can bid. Gifts to the Libertarian Party of Illinois are not tax deductible.

Contact convention@lpillinois.org to donate or volunteer. If you would like a vendor table, rates are a low $25 each. Reduced rate attendance rates and packages will be available from now through February 28th. The Annual Business meeting is free to every member. Remember to book your rooms as soon as possible. Let’s make this year’s attendance the best ever!
